iOS 14 Beta 5! What's New Review

 What's up,

guys?

Everything.

Apple pro here It's bay Today I was 14 developer Beta five,

and this one's a bigger one than Beta four was.

So lots of changes inside.

Let's get into it.

First thing I'd like to mention is performance.

In the very brief time I've been using this,

it's so much better than Beta four was beta,

for my goodness was bugged galore,

Which is strange since the earlier betas were much better anyways,

performances better,

I've noticed in particular haptic touch responsiveness has improved and stutters

lag you'd see here and there has been fixed with beta five here on the right,

Apple has raised the page dots and given them a be fear of border.

So back to early I was 14.

Beta look and folders have been elongated.

Now a little bit of a strange design.

I guess they flow more with the shape of the iPhone screen here.

Not sure if I like it,

but it is new.

In the control center,

apple is once again reverted to the smaller icons.

As far as I can tell,

they stay in this orientation.

Although I may be wrong on this one and the spacings of a little bit different.

I personally prefer them this way instead of two big icons here.

As you get more options,

there's now a new widget size for news.

It's a super mega size.

You're not able to enable it.

It doesn't show up anywhere,

but I guess this is coming in future.

I was 14.

Betas and certain widgets,

like the maps widget,

will now ask you to verify whether you want to allow location tracking,

and that's able to be adjusted any location,

services,

settings.

So Apple is really going deep on the privacy settings,

making sure that every application,

even widget now is getting your verification for tracking you or other permissions.

Also,

when using screen time,

widgets are now under the same restrictions as their parent applications.

So restricting let's say music will prevent this actual widget from working as well.

Apple is once again put some effort into the weather widget and now refreshes at Mawr intervals and

overall more stable,

and these two widgets have been modified in dark mode.

Notes now appears a darker inside in the calendar.

Widget no longer pitch black,

more of a grayish,

and when setting up the tips widget.

The size of the text inside the previews has been adjusted now a little bit easier to

see,

and the organization of the news widget has changed.

Now it's topic first,

and the description inside has been modified and saying goes for clock.

Here the organization has changed.

The first widget to appear is city now,

instead of world clock.

And after updating first time opening up shortcuts,

you'll get this new splash screen describing shortcuts for watch automation suggestions,

started shortcuts and a new compact design also within shortcuts.

When changing the glitz image.

There are now even more images here in all categories.

Symbols,

people and objects.

So a lot more to choose from and with bedtime mode enabled when winding down,

you'll now see this bet icon instead of the sleep.

Well,

text a number of cool changes within the music app,

So notice the background here.

When I change songs,

it responds to the album art much quicker,

so more responsive.

Not only that,

the colors have changed as well,

so now they're more muted,

not as popping,

I'd say as beta four,

but I still like them alone.

More responsive new colors Yeah,

I like that a lot.

Also,

something I miss from made of four in the listing Now section certain albums are now

animated here,

which is a really nice touch that wasn't available earlier.

So more animation within the music application,

also throughout the music,

app very hard on a catch.

But a lot of the icons air ever so slightly made boulder slightly

larger.

The text here is less bold,

so in certain areas he gets bolder,

certain areas less bold plus icon slightly boulder.

Almost impossible to catch another impossible one to catch,

then Carplay.

Couple of the icons.

Some positionings have changed.

You'd never notice it on your own without overlaying in photo shop here.

Also,

I noticed that my iPhone battery level is no longer showing up within car plate.

Not sure if that's intentional but no longer showing up within photos in the navigation bar

Photos is now known as library,

same function,

and within the photos settings,

you now have an option for hidden album.

This essentially toggles on and off for visible the hidden section here,

so it's now visible in my albums.

If I go ahead in disabled that the hidden section is no longer there and on the home screen on the

photos widget when clicking on the featured photo you can now share.

And there is a new option here to remove from featured photos,

so it'll no longer show up here.

I know it has a tendency to select the most embarrassing and weirdest photos they swear.

Also,

a brilliant change in Beta five is the time Picker is now back to a scroll format,

and this is throughout Iowa s so you can both type in and scroll,

which is a really nice touch.

And within settings,

display and brightness settings,

the preview now features.

I was 14 wallpapers here instead of I was 13 and would display Zoom enabled when

using Siri.

The results are now formatted better with the zoomed mode enabled,

so now displays more information on the same page.

Apples made a couple of visual adjustments within battery settings,

last charged to 95% so easier to read instead of having a

level over here.

And now there's a little icon representing when you were charging and within exposure notification settings

in here,

you know,

have an option to turn on exposure notifications as well as availability alerts.

Now,

in clicking on it,

there's an actual prompt that you can go through here explaining what's going on and choosing a

region and within accessibility settings in magnifier.

There's a new description here for magnifier,

also within the magnifier settings here.

Filter customization is now just filters actually going into the magnifier.

There's a visual change here.

So when the interfaces collapsed on notice that there's a little arrow here visible

previously was just flat and a really awesome one that I missed from the earlier betas on older

iPhones.

You,

too,

can change the frame rate and resolution settings within the camera app by going into your camera settings and

then jumping into record video in select video format control.

Toe on by default.

It's off and within the camera app now,

same as the iPhone,

tennis and above basically the iPhone 10 and below.

Now get this as well.

You can change your camera settings in here awesome and helpless.

Tweaked the algorithm for emoji search.

Now searching for Apple will bring up more relevant results where previously weren't

the same options here within messages.

The photo preview area has been shrunk,

and I'm not sure if this was a bug to begin with.

But now that's Tidier.

Also,

in the last beta there was this annoying bug where,

when using quick reply and you were typing,

you would stop typing about 10 seconds through that's since been resolved.

Thank goodness,

also the bug when an application or a process would recently use your micro

camera and I was would be unable to identify.

It has since been fixed,

also in earlier when I missed.

So when you get a missed call,

it will no longer automatically call the person back.

When you click on that notification,

it'll now take it to the APP responsible for that notification within safari.

When visiting a website you've already visited.

It will now show up in blue here.

So nice visual change and going into the toolbar here,

Privacy report will now mention directly underneath it how many trackers it prevented with how having

to go into this interface.

And I was 14.

Beta four added support for using Face I D within the Safari application and within the home

AP Apple has updated the bottom navigation bar icons here.

The home is now representative of a cliche home here,

rooms slightly rounded and automation shrunk.

And in the automation tab,

Apple's updated the Apple TV icon now more like Great!

That's it,

for I was 14 Beta five,

surprisingly more features than expected.

With final release looming here,

Apple is perfecting things,

making it smoother performance.

As I said in my few hours of testing,

has been smoother,

far smoother animations,

haptic,

touch and all that,

and compared to an earlier beta multicourse score,

has been resolved but not getting an increase of 2025% like some people are

reporting a rise.

Thanks for watching guys stay tuned for the next one pace.
